College Basketball Statistics

Why aren’t the highest scoring high school basketball players known at all in the basketball world? ?
When I check on MaxPreps.com for statistics on basketball players I find alot who average over 30 ponits a game and some who average 40 points a game. My question is why don’t we hear about these players on TV or in college? I have never heard of any of them but they seem to be incredibly good at basketball.
