Basketball Upset Stories

How many NBA avid fans out there are taking it personally, when we hear that NBA ref is a crook?
I watch all NBA games when it’s possible, unless there are more games in one night.
I have my favorite team I cheer for but I love to watch and get to know who all the players are.
They are the greatest the world has to offer.
Tim Donaghy is a dirty rotten excuse for a referee, husband, father and member of the basketball community.
Yahoo news story says there are more arrests coming.
I’m DAMN DAMN, mad and if I wasn’t a woman, I would simply have to swear.
How do all the fans ot there feel about this major upset?
IAK NY, I agree completely. Were some games we watched all in vain.
I wonder how the players really feel.
What about the winners of some of the games.
I wonder how the Spurs feel. They were the big winners.
It’s a drag, but it only confirms what we already know. Bottom line, if we have learned nothing else so far in the 21st century it’s that any industry that involves billions of dollars changing hands is subject to people trying to manipulate it. The fact that one referee…maybe more…is caught taking money is upsetting, but I’m not all that surprised. The questions are, how widespread is the corruption and what will the league do about it. If they give the appearance of doing a thorough investigation and bar anyone involved in fixing games, fans will keep faith. If they appear to be trying to sweep it under the rug, that will make fans not trust the game. It’s like horse racing, which I also follow–I trust it not because I don’t think there are people trying to fix it, I trust it because when they catch people doing that they face serious consequences. People cheating to win are fined and suspended, and people cheating to lose…well, they are flat out of the game. That’s what the NBA needs to do.
